I have never heard of the Spoon Theory but I am intrigued. I shared your article with my sister and plan to discuss it with her when I see her in a couple weeks. She has lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, congestive heart failure, and damaged lungs. She's on oxygen 100% of the time. I think she needs to know about spoon theory. I learn so much from you. Thank you for sharing.
We use Spoon Theory in our house too! It’s great for our neurodivergent children. I recently wrote an article on my substack about how it can help neurodivergent people. It really helps to be able to track energy out and energy in - to be careful with “spoon” spending and to be purposeful with replenishment of “spoons”. It’s sparked some really enlightening conversations in our family and helped us plan things and manage energy better. 🙂

I’m so glad it resonated for you, @Jane Anderson! It sounds like your sister is dealing with so much! I am glad you are there for her. Hugs!
I’ve never heard of “spoon theory,” but I believe thinking about life this way will deepen my compassion for those I know who have health challenges.
I love that, @Elizabeth Reynolds Turnage! It’s doing the same for me.

That’s so cool, @Kate Morris! I’m excited to read your article and learn more about how you use it with neurodivergent kids. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful, Serena! Thank you for sharing this. I am new to Spoon Theory but it makes so much sense.
Thanks @Ann Boyd! I’m learning too!
